About the Trust

Mission

To protect and steward land for the benefit of all species in the Lower Nehalem River/Neahkahnie Mountain region.

Goals

Land Protection

Protect land in perpetuity for conservation and other community benefits.

Work with public agencies and our communities to promote land protection, conservation, restoration, and ecologically sound uses of local lands.

Stewardship

Monitor the condition of, maintain, and as needed restore Trust property.

Restore and enhance ecological functions for the benefit of animal and plant communities.

Community Outreach and Education

Deepen our community’s understanding of local ecosystems and natural processes.

Increase local knowledge of sustainable approaches for food production, forestry, and building.

Support and create places and events that enrich the community.

Encourage economic activity that is environmentally friendly and builds community.

Coastal Food Ecology Center

Increase the community capacity to grow healthy, affordable, local food.

Promote the cultivation and use of native trees and plants.
