2002

May 8 Seven founding board members (Tom Bender, Lane deMoll, Gareth Ferdun, Georgenne Ferdun, Doug Firstbrook, Judith Schwartz, Vivi Tallman) signed the Articles of Incorporation.
July 21 Bylaws approved and signed
September 1 Labor Day Weekend - First public meeting held in Nehalem city park
October 26

Sponsored Airport Beach clean-up jointly with Lower Nehalem Watershed Council and Oregon Department of Parks and Recreation

December 17 IRS Determination Letter received.

2003

March 31

Five individuals joined to purchase a 55 acre former dairy farm (Alder Creek Farm) to hold it until the Trust could raise money to buy it from them for the price they paid plus interim costs.

April 

Signed agreement with new owners of Alder Creek Farm to lease and manage the property with option to buy.

June 29 

Open house and potluck at Alder Creek Farm.

August

Hired Doug Firstbrook as first staff person. Garden/Agriculture Tuesday work mornings begun.

Oregon Cultural Trust grant of $600 toward an ‘Artmaking and Visioning Project’, a vision flags project for students visiting the farm and large murals with contributions by public added on First Saturdays.

Fraternal Order of Garden Grubs (F.O.G.G.) begins planting seeds in the greenhouse for a Community Garden.

April 

OWEB Wetlands Restoration Grant of $23,100 for wetlands restoration on Alder Creek Farm.  The plan includes removing the west levee, filling the center drainage ditch, removing drain tiles and concrete drainage pipe, construction of a small seasonal wetlands area with overflow channel.

Permaculture Demonstration Garden begun.
