How You Can Help

Vosburg Creek

This 8.5-acre parcel of land in Wheeler was donated to the Lower Nehalem Community Trust in 2005. Vosburg Creek, historically a chum spawning ground, runs the length of the property. The remains of a chum hatchery that was in use 20 years ago can still be seen. Much of the property is wetlands. Restoration is focused on the removal of hatchery infrastructure, invasive plants removal, and restoration of conifers.  The Trust will maintain a trail and two buildings on the land from public use and educational programs.
